District Survey

Community Feedback Survey:

When the new high school is completed, a large 20x20 rocket image will be hung on the side of the new high school for motorists to see traveling on Route 14.  This rocket image will  be the first view of the school when approaching town.  Working in partnership with Maplewood Career Center, students were given the opportunity to design the artwork that will be hung on the gymnasium for the life of the building.  Students were told to design artwork that represents the Streetsboro City Schools.  Once the design is chosen, the students at Maplewood Career Center will manufacture and fabricate the sign at the career center.  Please follow the link below to provide your feedback regarding the artwork being designed.  Thank you for your input and Go Rockets!

Band Update

Streetsboro Band members and parents,

Mr. Curfman has notified us he will not be returning to his position as interim band director at the high school and Defer Intermediate School.  While we were saddened by this news, we are thankful for the time and efforts he put in to make sure our students had the best band experience possible during this ongoing situation.  I would like to personally thank Mr. Curfman for his outstanding efforts and professionalism!  You are appreciated and will be missed.

As of Wednesday, October 26, Mr. Mason Smith will take over all of Mr. Curfman’s duties at the high school and Defer Intermediate School.  He will also serve as the Marching Band Director for the remaining game this Friday as well as accompany the band to their performance at The Ohio State University on Saturday.  Mr. Smith has proven to be an outstanding director and we have complete confidence in his ability to continue to move the band forward until the current situation is resolved.

Fortunately, we have another experienced music teacher currently subbing in the district.  Her name is Ms. Jayne DiMascio and she brings to us both a music background and classroom experience.  Ms. DiMascio will take over Mr. Smith’s duties at the Middle School in the interim.

I would like to thank everyone for their patience as we work to bring some resolution to the current band situation.  We are working hard to conclude this unfortunate situation soon and are continuing to provide the best education possible for all of our music students.

Thank you,

R. Michael Daulbaugh, Superintendent.
